Margaret studied Psychology and Counseling at Indiana University, where she led a peer support group for college students with mental health related concerns. She researched college students behavior around study habits and performance. Margaret was the Assistant Director for Camp STAR, a Summer Treatment Program for children with ADHD and related disorders. Margaret then received her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northwestern university.
While at Northwestern, Margaret pursued work with children, adolescents, and their families around various behavioral disorders, behavior management, anxiety, depression, emotion regulation and ADHD. Margaret has experience working with children of many ages, as well as individual adult services and family therapy.
Margaret currently works full time for Youth Outreach Services in Chicago, working with adolescent at risk clients on substance abuse and mental health related concerns Margaret approaches therapy as a collaborative process, through the client's expertise in their own life and her education, therapy is a team effort to enhance insight and change existing patterns. Margaret's therapy uses an integrative approach, having a heavy influence from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, and Integrative Systemic Therapy.
